The Archives (Jan '10-)

Past Archives: Year 1

Below you will find the archived photos of "The Window" cartoon as seen from the street.  Some photos aren't perfect (Bids is not a photographer, either).  The first ones were taken in direct sunlight until he realized that they could be difficult to read.  During overcast skies and at night are the best times to take the photos.  There are also some weeks that are skipped and Bids apologizes for those as he was either out of town for those weekends, or there was some other plausible excuse.  Enjoy!

> Over the Holidays...

- Happy Festivus!  Yes, Bids and the cats (jokingly) observe the Frank Costanza-created holiday, Festivus (from Seinfeld).  The holiday is symbolized by a 6-ft aluminum pole (due to it's high strength-to-weight ratio).  Also, during the holiday, the following traditions are commonly observed: The Airing of Grievances and The Feats of Strength.

- Bids and the cats are also fans of the movie A Christmas Story, so the leg lamp makes its regular appearance in Bids' window.  Due to the poor light conditions, you can't see what Sam is saying.  Sam says, "Now, THAT says x-mas!"

- Without the flash    - One more with...

- Finally, Bids is a HUGE Cincinnati Bengals fan, and even though the cats are public figures, they have no problem choosing sides.  Again, the poor lighting makes it difficult to see what the cats are saying, but they're both screaming "WHO-DEY!" (the Bengals' chant).  The background is filled with a very small sample of Bids' Bengals paraphernalia.
